Nicole Anderson - Voice, Guitar, Piano,& Ukulele
Nicole Anderson studied music education at Portland State University, with a focus on elementary education and voice. She began performing in choirs at a young age, and has continued to perform in choir while at her University. Through her studies, she has performed solo vocal repertoire and learned the basics of many different instruments. She believes that all children have the capacity to play instruments, dance, move, and sing with the natural abilities that are inside all of us. Her approach to private lessons is entering with the mentality of having fun and creating a lifelong love for music. Voice, keyboard, beginning guitar and Ukulele are the preferred lesson.
Mike Mazur- Guitar, Piano, Ukulele, Songwriting & Voice
Michael Mazur is a New Jersey native who has been playing music for over 20 years, having started lessons in piano at age 7 and guitar at age 13. He has enjoyed playing guitar in bands with styles ranging from blues, jazz, rock and roll, indie, and folk to world music with exotic instruments. He is also a singer/songwriter with a talent for putting a creative flare in covers of popular songs. Through music, Michael believes that we can express ourselves while broadening our minds - learning every step of the way. Lessons are taught with a focus on expanding knowledge of musical theory while continuing to feed the flame of inspiration that keeps an instrument fun and exciting. Whether you're plucking a string for the first time or wanting to hop in the middle of a crowd of instruments and play along, Michael will guide you there with his upbeat fun style.
Will Gibbs - Bass, Guitar, Piano, Cello & Violin
Will Gibbs is a native of Portland, Oregon and grew up educated by the city's wonderful youth symphony programs; Portland Youth Philharmonic and Metropolitan Youth Symphony. After studying with jazz bass legend Glen Moore through out high school he went on to study bass performance at Portland State University. Upon receiving his degree in 2014 he began playing with regional symphony orchestras as well as touring the world with musical group The Von Trapps. His unique and varied experiences lend themselves to his love of teaching as well. Never afraid to try something new in the quest to create something beautiful, he enjoys the challenge of finding what makes his students inspired and excited to perform.
Jordan Hull - Guitar, Banjo, Piano,Ukelele, & Mandolin
Jordan has over 12 years experience as a songwriter and performing musician. He has been playing his original music in restaurants and venues across America since high school. His music has been featured on televisions shows and covered by national acts. In 2009 Jordan moved to Nashville and attended Belmont University’s music business program and continued to live in Music City for the next 8 years. In 2011-2014 he was signed to major label Ropeadope Records and has since toured and played music in 48 of the 50 states. His main instruments are guitar and banjo, and in his travels he’s picked up a slew of regional styles he’s happy to share: from delta blues finger picking to clawhammer banjo techniques. He is also able to teach beginner piano, ukulele, and mandolin, as well as songwriting.
Sean Kenny- Drums, Beginning Guitar, & Piano
Sean Kenny was raised in a military family that moved around frequently, so he has experienced and performed a wide variety of music in locations from England all the way to Hawai'i. He has been playing music for 17 years, and now finds himself in Portland, OR to pursue his passion for performing and teaching. After being heavily involved in his high school music programs in New Jersey and Maryland, including concert band, all-state band, jazz band, and marching band, he went on to perform with the University of Hawai'i Jazz Orchestra for 7 years. In addition to music, he also studied education and astronomy at university. Outside of school, Sean was a regular performer and instructor in East Hawai'i County, playing a variety of music at local venues ranging from jazz, to rock, blues, reggae, fusion, and even some more eclectic music like the works of Frank Zappa. Sean truly enjoys every aspect of music; performing, teaching, listening, learning, and hopes to convey his passion to his students.
Nicklas Waroff- Saxophone, Woodwinds, Piano, & Guitar
Nicklas Waroff is a saxophonist, woodwind specialist, composer, and educator in Portland, OR. Nicklas has been involved with numerous music ensembles and projects which encompass the genres of jazz, symphonic, funk, Arabic, blues and more. As a student, Waroff studied music at Southern Oregon University and University of Wyoming where he earned a Masters Degree in saxophone performance. While at university, he was priveledged to work and perform with many saxophone and music visionaries including: Rhett Bender, J. Scott Turpen, Eugene Rousseau, Kenneth Fischer, Otis Murphy, Stefan Harris, Gregg Bissonette, and Steve Turre. Nicklas enjoys having fun with his wife, Jamie, growing vegetables and playing music.
Luke Swearengin- Voice, Piano,Guitar, & Ukuele
Luke is a future music educator, and is eager and ready to teach Voice, Guitar, Piano, and ukulele. He was an active member in his high school choir, and has awards for classical tenor voice and solo musical theater singing. Guitar was his first love and he has been playing and learning this instrument for over 13 years, and can teach new and experienced students alike. He also has experience in recording and song writing and performance etiquette. While he is accomplished as a musician, his passion is teaching, and cannot wait to share his talent and love for music with everyone.
Zoe Tricoche- Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Drums, & Voice
Zoë Tricoche is a musician from Rancho Cucamonga, California with 7 years of experience ranging from being a percussion section leader in his high schools marching bands, symphony bands, singing in choir programs, performing in multiple rock/metal bands and writing/recording original songs! Exposed to inspiring, professional musicians all his life, Zoë absolutely fell in love with playing and performing music. He knows how to play guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, orchestral percussion, sing and understand music theory. Zoë is eager to spread knowledge and teach students exactly what they want to learn with a positive and fun attitude!
Amelia Denbo- Violin, Cello, Viola, & Beginning Piano
Amelia Denbo is a violinist and cellist with a varying degree of knowledge in viola and piano. She grew up surrounded by music by both her parents and grandparents all former musicians. Her musical journey started in her school orchestra where she began the violin and later the cello. Over time she played in both her high school orchestra and the Metropolitan Youth Symphony where she had the opportunity to play at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Her specialty is in classical, baroque, and romantic styles of music, Dvorak and Vivaldi being among her favorites. Over the years her performance with her school symphony has earned 2nd overall in the state in 2015, 1st at the Mt. Hood Music Festival in both 2014 and 2018 for string, and 1st in the MHC League competition in 2018 for symphony. She is excited to share her passion for music with all new learners from beginning to intermediate in skill level.
Kevin Payne-Guitar,Bass, Ukulele, & Beginning Piano
Kevin Merrill Payne was born and raised in California's Napa Valley, where he took an interest in music at a very early age. Given that his parents exposed him to different genres of music ranging from Classic Rock to Flamenco, he grew up listening to a lot of bands and artists that featured generous use of the guitar. It was when he was 13 years old that he first decided to start playing said instrument. Since then, he has been in scores of bands, composed numerous songs, played at dozens of venues and events, and recorded on many published tracks. Kevin has also taken years of both formal and informal training to hone his skills and knowledge around music and the guitar. During high school, he was given private lessons by both a free-lance guitar teacher and various instructors at Napa School of Music. After high school, he took several semesters worth of schooling at Napa Valley College for Music Theory, Ear Training, and Ensemble. Nowadays, he lives in Portland, Oregon where he regularly collaborates with other local artists and eagerly awaits the next project or student that comes his way.
